Q: Where are you from originally and how did you end up on the Western Slope?

A: I am originally from South Florida and relocated to the Front Rage in 2006 to escape the Florida hurricanes.  The Delta Health Outpatient Therapies and Sports Rehabilitation Pediatric Physical Therapist position is what brought me to the Western Slope.

Q: Tell us a bit about your medical background – where did you go to school, etc.?

A: I earned my physical therapy degree in 1997 from Florida International University.

Q: How did you get into Pediatric Physical Therapy?

A: I worked in outpatient orthopedics after graduation and transitioned into pediatrics serving the Early Intervention population after moving to Colorado.

Q: Tell us more about the pediatric PT specialty that you offer. What types of services do/can you provide?

A: I treat a wide variety of diagnoses that include developmental delay, sports injuries, torticollis, and neurological and orthopedic conditions.

Q: What is your care philosophy when it comes to patients? How is it different working with pediatric patients versus adult patients?

A: I strive to make physical therapy fun for kids, prescribe exercises that are easy to integrate into their daily routines and help families achieve their children’s goals.  Children learn through play and integrating play into therapy sessions is one of the differences between treating children versus adults.

Q: Why rural healthcare? What do you enjoy most about it?

A: I chose to work at Delta Health, not just for the beautiful location but the opportunity to work alongside amazing and talented therapists in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Department.

Q:     What are you most looking forward to about working at Delta Health?

A: Being part of a fantastic rehabilitation team and serving the children and Delta community.

Q: Tell us more about your life outside of work: hobbies, things you enjoy doing, family, children, pets?

A: I enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking and baking. I am married and have two beautiful daughters.  We are a very close family and we love spending time together.
