July, 2017 – Delta Health was recently awarded $250,000 from the Colorado Health Foundation for the West Elk Clinic in Hotchkiss serving patients and families in Hotchkiss, Paonia and Crawford areas.
This grant will be used for equipment and interior furnishings at the new West Elk Clinic which is expected to open in early September for North Fork residents. Delta Health has already invested $2.1 million in the land, architectural design and construction of the building.
A dedicated team from several Delta hospital departments and clinics prepared the grant application and collected all of the required documentation starting last fall for a period of close to six months. The grant application was submitted in February 2017 with the Colorado Health Foundation conducting an interview and follow up requests for additional information between March and May. The actual grant award was made during May of this year.
