Delta Health Announces Expansion of Behavioral Health Services to Address Immediate Community Needs

Feb 12, 2024News

Delta Health announces changes to its Behavioral Health Department and creation of a temporary Behavioral Health Resource Line in response to the urgent needs of the community. With the recent closure of Integrated Insight Therapy, Delta Health recognizes the critical importance of expanding its behavioral health services to meet the needs of Delta County residents.

“While we are disappointed to lose the valuable services and partnership that Integrated provided in the community, we are excited for the opportunity to expand our behavioral health services in Delta County,” said Julie Huffman, Delta Health Interim CEO and Chief Legal Officer. “In these kinds of critical situations, it is our duty to consider what we can do and to act quickly. It is about doing the right thing.”

The expansion includes the addition of four Behavioral Health Therapists to the existing primary care clinic team and two Peer Support Specialists for the Emergency Department. In addition, Delta Health is recruiting a psychiatric provider to collaborate with Delta Health primary care providers in addressing the psychiatric medication needs of patients.

To ensure effective crisis management, Delta Health is collaborating with Mind Springs in Grand Junction and exploring additional community partnerships to strengthen its crisis support network.

The Delta Health Behavioral Health Resource Line provides information to individuals seeking assistance finding community resources for their mental health concerns. Delta Health encourages patients to contact their primary care clinic for any medication refills. The resource line will not be able to provide patients with refills on their medications. To contact Delta Health Behavioral Health Resource Line, call 970.874.6008, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. For future updated information about the expanded Behavioral Health Program, please go to Delta Health Behavioral Health and social media platforms.

“Although we are working quickly, establishing a new program will require some time. We want to make sure this is done correctly,” “We anticipate releasing more information about the program and services soon. As the program continues to develop and welcomes new team members, more updates will be made available to the community,” says Huffman.

Delta Health Hospital remains committed to providing high-quality healthcare services and addressing the evolving needs of Delta County residents.
