DELTA, CO — (July 17, 2026) — Delta Health is pleased to welcome Troy Eller as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), bringing more than 25 years of healthcare experience and a passion for strengthening rural, independent healthcare organizations.
Eller joins Delta Health after serving as CFO at a rural Critical Access Hospital in South Florida. Throughout his healthcare career, he has held financial leadership roles in organizations ranging from 25-bed rural critical access hospitals to large, 250-plus-bed health systems. His broad experience spans both the provider and payer sides of healthcare, giving him a unique perspective on financial strategy, reimbursement, and revenue cycle management.
“We are excited to welcome Troy to the Delta Health leadership team,” said Nick Colleran, Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer of Delta Health. “His depth of financial expertise, commitment to rural healthcare, and collaborative leadership style will help support our mission of providing exceptional care to the communities we serve.”
Originally from rural West Tennessee, Eller says relocating to Western Colorado has been a long-time dream for him and his wife. “My wife and I have always wanted to live out West,” Eller said. “The biggest surprise has been realizing just how kind and welcoming the people of Western Colorado are. Everyone has been incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, making us feel right at home in the community.”
Eller’s path to healthcare leadership began with military service. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Surveyor. During his service, he was stationed in Germany during the Cold War and witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall. He later deployed during Operation Desert Storm, serving in Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, where he participated in missions alongside the 1st Special Forces Group.
Following his military service, Eller earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from Belhaven University and a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University. Healthcare finance has remained a natural fit throughout his career.
“I’ve always been a numbers guy,” Eller said. “Working for an independent healthcare organization isn’t just about profitability. It’s about providing the healthcare our community needs while maintaining our independence and financial strength. Rural organizations also have the ability to be agile and adapt quickly as healthcare continues to evolve.”
Eller said several factors drew him to Delta Health, including the organization’s culture, leadership team, independence and opportunities for growth.
“I chose Delta Health because of the location, the culture, the leadership team, the organization’s independence, the opportunity to help it grow, and the healthy work-life balance,” he said. “It checked all the boxes.”
As he begins his new role, Eller is focused on helping Delta Health continue to grow while supporting the talented team already in place. Outside of work, Eller enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife recently celebrated 31 years of marriage and have a 20-year-old son, Noah, who is studying Computer Science Engineering in Central Florida. He is also an avid car enthusiast—especially when it comes to Corvettes—and enjoys amateur photography in his spare time.
Delta Health is pleased to welcome Troy and his family to Western Colorado and looks forward to the leadership and experience he brings as the organization continues its commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare close to home.
