Dr. Jeffrey Berkosky resigned from the Delta Health Board of Directors at a recent hospital board meeting held March 21, 2016 in the Oncology Crag Crest classroom. His hospital board service will end at the April board meeting.
Dr. Berkosky made the decision to step down as a hospital board member, based on recent federal government decision requiring him to become a hospital employee if he wanted to continue to work at Internal Medicine Associates. Internal Medicine Associates is owned by Delta Health. He felt that this could represent a conflict of interest being an employee and serving on the hospital board.
“The Delta Health Administration supports Dr. Berkosky’s decision to continue his medical practice, and thanks him for his two years of serving on the hospital board,” stated CEO Jason Cleckler.
The Delta Health board of directors anticipates appointing a new board member at the April board meeting to fulfill Dr. Berkosky’s final two years as a hospital board member.
If there is interest from anyone in the community who would like to be considered for Dr. Berkosky’s seat on the hospital board, they can contact the Delta Health administration office at 874-2285.
Within the next 60 days there will also be two vacancies on the Delta Health board of directors which will be elected positions voted on by Delta County residents. David Lane, CPA currently President of the Delta Health board of directors is up for re-election for one board vacancy and there is one seat which is term-limited and will be vacated by John Breitnaurer, Pharmacist from Cedaredge, that will need to be filled with a newly elected board member.
