faqs for your telehealth visit
Q: What is Telehealth?
A. Telehealth is an easy and secure way to connect with you provider through video conferencing, phone calls and more using a computer, tablet, phone or device.
Q: How do I find out if a Telehealth visit is right for me?
A. If you are interested in a Telehealth visit with your provider, contact your Primary Care Clinic (PCP) and ask if they think a Telehealth visit is the best choice for you to receive your care.
Q: If my provider and I decide Telehealth is a good fit, what are my next steps?
A. If you and your provider decide Telehealth is a good fit, you will set up the day and time for your virtual appointment.
Q: How do I decide if a video or phone call is the best visit option?
A. You and your provider will decide if a video call or phone call is the best option for your virtual visit based on your needs and ability to easily access the necessary equipment.
Q: What will my visit look like if I choose the video visit option?
A. If you and your provider decide that a video chat with your provider is the best option, you will choose the day and time of your appointment. You will then be given a URL similar to: doxy.me/YourDrsName.
This specific URL is what you will type into the browser of your choice on your computer, phone or device on the day and time of your virtual appointment. You do not have to make an account for the URL to work. Simply type it in your browser, you will be met with a “waiting screen,” and your provider will start the video call when they are ready.
Q: What will my visit look like if I choose the phone call option?
A. If you and your provider decide that a phone call is the best option, you will choose the day and time for your phone call appointment. Once a day and time has been decided, your provider will contact you via phone on the specified day and time using the contact information provided to your PCP.
Q: How do I prepare for my Telehealth visit?
A. Preparing for your Telehealth visit is very similar to preparing for your in-person visit. If you have questions or concerns for your provider, make sure that you have those ready to discuss. Your provider will ask you a series of questions to help get your needs taken care of.
Q: Will I have to pay more for my Telehealth visit?
A. For questions relating to Telehealth visits and your insurance, please visit the Delta Health Billing Office web page.
