Delta Health Welcomes New Internal Medicine Physician Carly Joseph

Aug 27, 2026News

DELTA, CO (August 27, 2026) — Delta Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Carly Joseph, MD, to its Adult Primary Care team beginning September 1, 2026. Dr. Joseph specializes in internal medicine, providing comprehensive care for adult patients from preventative health through the end of life, with a particular focus on women’s health across the lifespan.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Carly Joseph to Delta Health,” said Delta Health Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer Nick Colleran. “Dr. Joseph brings a rare combination of engineering precision, public health insight, and a genuine commitment to rural care; she trained at a medical school built around a rural and primary care mission. Increasing access to Internal Medicine care close to home matters to our residents, and we’re confident Dr. Joseph’s background and focus will make a real difference for our community.”

Dr. Joseph is originally from Michigan, where she lived in a number of small towns and rural communities before setting out to build a career in rural medicine. An avid mountain biker, skier, and rock climber, she was drawn to a community that could support that lifestyle alongside a rural medical practice — and Delta County made an immediate impression.

“I wanted to practice rural medicine in a place that would support all of my outdoor hobbies,” Dr. Joseph said. “Within the first day of visiting, I knew Delta would be a great fit.”

Dr. Joseph studied biomedical engineering at Michigan Technological University before attending Central Michigan University College of Medicine, drawn by the school’s rural and primary care mission. She went on to complete a Master of Public Health at the University of Michigan, researching pandemic-related isolation among older adults and its implications for rural health, and completed an Internal Medicine residency in Portland, Maine.

“Delta Health stood out as a group that shared my vision for primary care, where being smaller and independent means physicians have real room to be creative in how they help patients thrive,” Dr. Joseph said. “People need to feel seen and understood, and this is the foundation of meaningful, trusting relationships in primary care. I try to bring what matters most to each patient to the front and center of our plan of care.”

Outside of work, Dr. Joseph looks forward to exploring Delta County and plans to take up cross-country skiing on Grand Mesa this winter. Dr. Joseph will see patients at Delta Health Adult Primary Care beginning September 1, 2026. To schedule an appointment, call 970-874-7668.
