Each year the Delta Health Volunteers accept scholarship applications from Delta County area high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a health-related career.
This year $3,500 in scholarships were awarded to:
1) Shelby Wilson, Delta High School, $1000 for becoming a Physician Assistant from University of Colorado at Colorado Springs
2) Simon Driver, Home Schooled, $1000 + $500 for Junior Volunteer Scholarship for Bio-chemistry in order to do research from Mesa State University.
3) Haley Park from Paonia High School, $1000 for the Nursing Program through Grand Canyon University
Each year for the past 10 years, the hospital volunteers have given out $4000 in scholarships to deserving Delta County senior high school students advancing their education in some type of health-related major.
