Two Nurses Promoted at Grand Mesa Oncology

Nysha Wilson, RN, BSN, OCN (Registered Nurse, BS in Nursing, Oncology Certified Nurse) has recently been promoted to Assistant Manager and Danielle Gallegos, RN, BSN, OCN was promoted to Oncology Nurse Navigator, at Grand Mesa Oncology Center, announced LouAnn Drown, RN clinic manager.

Wilson has worked for Delta Health for over 12 years, primarily in the Oncology clinic. She brings expertise in the areas of patient education, disease/treatment, crises intervention and communication skills. Among her added responsibilities she will manage patient referrals, do patient education, work on employee satisfaction and continuing education for staff, improve and standardize chemotherapy order and implement policies and procedures for Grand Mesa Oncology Center.

Gallegos brings over 10 years of oncology experience, including two years at the University of Colorado in the bone marrow transplant unit. In her role as Oncology Nurse Navigator she is essential to patients “navigating” through diagnosis, appointments, treatment and after care. She will also improve patient outcomes by coordinating care between all healthcare providers, community resources and patient needs.

“I will work hard and as long as it takes to ensure this program fulfills the needs of each patient and the community, “stated Gallegos, the new Oncology clinic Nurse Navigator.
