(October 27, 2026) — The Delta Health Board of Directors has named Nicholas Colleran, MSHA, MBA, as Chief Executive Officer of Delta Health. Colleran has served as Interim CEO since March 2026.
Colleran joined Delta Health as Chief Operating Officer in December 2024. Since stepping into the interim role in March 2026, he has provided steady operational and strategic leadership through a period of significant organizational transformation for Delta Health’s 49-bed hospital and its clinics throughout Delta County.
“Nick has demonstrated leadership during his time as Interim CEO; leading with discipline and a clear plan, by stabilizing our finances and strengthening our leadership team,” said Rep. Matt Soper, Chairman of the Delta Health Board of Directors. “The Board is confident Nick is the right person to lead Delta Health forward, as he shares the community vision for healthcare by ensuring that we keep high-quality care, close to home, right here in Delta County.”
During his tenure, Colleran led a comprehensive liquidity stabilization plan that grew Delta Health’s days cash on hand from roughly 6 days to 30 within four months. He also strengthened revenue cycle performance and helped recruit and onboard a permanent Chief Financial Officer.
“I look forward to continuing the great work that we have accomplished, as an organization, over the past year. Delta Health is where families find care close to home, and where people trust us in some of the most important moments of their lives. That trust has been earned over generations by the physicians, nurses and staff who show up every day for this community, and it’s my job to protect it and build on it,” said Colleran. “My commitment to the people of Delta County is simple: I will listen, I will be present, and I will make decisions with your health and your future in mind. From Delta to Cedaredge, from Orchard City to the North Fork, rural communities deserve high-quality care without having to drive long distances to get it. I’m committed to strengthening the services we offer, supporting the dedicated people who deliver that care, and making sure Delta Health remains independent, accessible and here for years to come.”
With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, Colleran has developed extensive expertise in hospital operations, physician practice management, and healthcare leadership. His experience spans both physician practices and hospital systems, providing a comprehensive understanding of healthcare operations across diverse settings. Throughout his career, he has held senior executive leadership positions, including Vice President and Chief Operating Officer roles, where he has led operational and financial turnarounds, expanded clinical service lines, and improved quality and patient safety outcomes. Colleran holds both a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
