Hotchkiss, CO (June 7th, 2019) – Page Osborn, clinics manager at the West Elk Clinics has been here just 10 short months but has wasted no time in making the community her home, “it truly is an honor to be providing healthcare services to such a deserving community.”
Recently, Osborn has been busy beating the streets and talking to people about The First Annual West Elk Healthy Summer Kick-Off to be held at the Hotchkiss clinic on June 22 nd from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. “I have been trying to talk to everyone I can and get the communities excited,” stated Osborn, “there are so many wonderful people and resources and I want to bring them all together with an emphasis on health and safety education.”
The idea stemmed from Osborn who has spear headed similar health events in Arizona. “I love doing things like this and I think it is so important for a community to come together with a health and community education mindset…[And this event] fits perfectly with the hospital’s vision to be a vital force driving the ongoing improvement of our community’s health and wellbeing.” Every vendor has been asked to have a health related demonstration, give away or educational piece.
This year’s West Elk Healthy Summer Kick-Off will include booths from different departments at Delta Health, an art exhibit from the Creative Art Coalition, prescription drug take back, opioid education, nonperishable food drive, a food vendor and many more local partners. “We are really excited to be having the Hotchkiss fire department bring with them two fire trucks (one brand new) for everyone to see, and the crime scene trailer from the Delta County Sheriff’s office open to the public for tours,” says Osborn. “Also, one of our providers, Dr. Mathews and her husband will be playing music for part of the time.”
Parking for this event will be at the fairgrounds.
“And I want to let everyone know, this is just the first annual, there is just so much more to come in the future and only room to grow.”
