As part of a recent on-site inspection, Delta Health Laboratory has been accredited by The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
“I am pleased with the recent review of our Laboratory reflecting the continued dedication of our Delta Health lab staff in providing quality lab services and high-quality patient care,” stated hospital CEO, Jason Cleckler.
This national recognition, considered to be the “gold standard” for health care facility laboratories was sent to Michael J. Benziger, MD who was congratulated for the excellence of services being provided by the Delta Health Laboratory, as one of more than 7,700 accredited facilities worldwide.
“Delta Health Laboratory is pleased to receive this accreditation. This certification confirms the excellence of the laboratory and reflects the dedication and hard work of all of the people associated with this laboratory,” stated Dr. Benziger, director.
The U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960’s, as being equal-to or more-stringent-than the government’s own inspection program.
During the CAP accreditation process, designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients, inspections examine the laboratory’s records and quality control procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record and overall management.
